Bio
Adele Kling Dunlop was born in Zambia in 1952. Her primary education was in Zambia and Zimbabwe after which she obtained a B.A.F.A from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.
She was awarded a Merit Scholarship from the Italian Government for post graduate study in Italy. Thereafter, she attended the Central School of Art and Design (now Central St. Martins) where she studied printmaking, and in particular, etching and aquatint.
Subsequently, she work/studied in Germany and France before returning to Southern Africa where she opened and exhibited in an art gallery in Harare, Zimbabwe.
In 1982 she relocated to the USA. She embarked upon an M.F.A at the University of Mississippi, focusing on printmaking.
Thereafter, her life has been somewhat nomadic, living in several U.S. cities (including New Orleans, Washington and Charleston S.C.) attending courses at the Smithsonian Institution and painting murals in both commercial and private venues.
She has spent extensive periods in Croatia and France and is currently based in Denver.
